NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Elaine Eleanor (Chilson) Gaspardi, 89, of North Adams, Mass., died on Monday, February 26, 2018, at Williamstown Commons. 

She was born in North Adams, Mass., on July 27, 1928, a daughter of the late Charles and Florence (Billings) Chilson. She attended local schools. Elaine was primarily a homemaker, and was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She enjoyed knitting and crocheting, as well as baking pies. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Elaine was the widow of Enrico Francesco Gaspardi, whom she married on January 7, 1950. He died on November 15, 2014.

Survivors include her daughter, Dianne Poette of North Adams; sons Michael Gaspardi of North Adams, Charles Gaspardi of Dartmouth, Mass., and Kevin Gaspardi of Freeport, Maine; seven grandchildren, Rian, Joseph, Anthony, Marlaina, Carrie, Gabriella, and Candace; five great-grandchildren, Temperance, Henry, Dylan, Gracie, and Lucy; sister Linda Davis of North Adams; brother William Chilson of Columbus, Ga.; as well as nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews. 

She was predeceased by her brother Donald; and her sisters Edith and Frances.

Funeral notice: The funeral for Elaine Gaspardi will be Saturday, March 3, 2018, at 10 a.m. at Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, West Chapel, 521 West Main St., North Adams, Mass. Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery.

Calling hours at the funeral home are Friday, March 2, 2018, from 4 to 7 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to the ASPCA in care of the funeral home.
