STAMFORD, Vt. — Eileen F. Trottier (Horn), age 93, of Stamford, Vt., passed away peacefully in her sleep on March 12, 2018.

Eileen was the daughter of the late Daniel Horn, a manager with New England Telephone, and Ellen Horn (Nestor), a homemaker. She was born and raised in North Adams, Mass., where she graduated from Drury High School.

Eileen attended Nurses’ Training at Mercy Hospital, Springfield, Mass., prior to her marriage to Richard F. Trottier in 1944. He died in 1998.

Eileen worked for 30-plus years in retail. An active parishioner at St. John Bosco Church for 70 years, she enjoyed traveling with her family, baking and knitting and was a voracious reader who loved to decorate her home.

Eileen is survived by her daughter, Kathleen Hull of Stamford, Vt.; her grandchildren, Jill Bailey (Don) of Woodstock, Md., Jan Mahar (Dean Kasian) of Baltimore, Md., Michael Mahar (Kathy) of Yorktown, Va., and Ray Mahar (Dawn) of St. Leonard, Md.; seven great-grandchildren (one preceded her in death); and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Brothers William and John preceded her in death.  

The family wishes to thank the staff at the Center for Living and Rehabilitation in Bennington, Vt., Bayada Hospice and Bayada Home Healthcare for taking care of our Gram. Gram will always be remembered as a loving grandmother and whose greatest passion was her grandchildren and great-grandchildren!

Funeral notice: A Memorial Mass will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 7, 2018, at St. John Bosco Church, 818 Main Road, Stamford, Vt. Burial will be private and at a later date.
