Mildred H. Germanowski, 90

ADAMS, Mass. — Mrs. Mildred Helen (Galipeau) Germanowski, 90, of Adams died Wednesday, April 11, 2018, at North Adams Commons.

She was born in Bennington, Vt., on August 24, 1927, daughter of the late Joseph and Helen (Bronson) Galipeau. She moved to North Adams with her family as a child and attended schools there, graduating from the former St. Joseph’s High School. She also attended the former Bliss Business College in North Adams. Mildred last worked in the offices of the former Sprague Electric Co. in North Adams for several years. Earlier, she had worked in the office of the former Richmond Hotel in North Adams.

She was a communicant of the Parish of St. John Paul II at St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, Adams. She enjoyed knitting items for many years.

She is survived by her husband of 68 years, Edmund J. Germanowski, whom she married on September 17, 1949; two sons, Peter Germanowski and his wife, Lynn, of Pittsfield and David Germanowski and his wife, Lisa, of Northampton; a daughter, Kathryn Halstead and her husband, Randall, of Arlington, Mass.; four grandchildren, Candace, Laura, Kayla and Carson; two great-grandchildren, Kyle and Cory; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Funeral notice: The funeral will be held on Tuesday, April 17, 2018, at 9 a.m. from the Paciorek Funeral Home, 13 Hoosac St., Adams, followed by as Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, Adams, celebrated by Rev. Steven Montesanti, Pastor. Burial will follow in St. Stanislaus Kostka Cemetery.

Calling hours are Monday, April 16, 2018, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to any charity of the donor’s choice.
