James W. Wetteland, 64

CHESHIRE, Mass. — Mr. James W. Wetteland, 64, of Cheshire, formerly of Adams, died Wednesday evening, April 25, 2018, at Albany (N.Y.) Medical Center.

He was born in Southbridge, Mass., on February 20, 1954, a son of the late Sverre and Stella (Pettipaw) Wetteland. He attended schools there, graduating from Southbridge High School. He moved to this area in 1976.

Jim worked as an architectural tradesman at Williams College in Williamstown, until retiring on July 8, 2016, with over 30 years of service.

He was a member of the Greylock Community Club in North Adams. He enjoyed motorcycles, restoring antique cars, restoring furniture, and spending time with his family. He was an accomplished cabinetmaker, woodworker and painter.

He is survived by his brother, David Wetteland and his wife, Donna, of Ware, Mass.; a sister, Karen Ditmar of Florida; as well as several nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.

Funeral notice: Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 5, 2018, at 11 a.m. in the Paciorek Funeral Home, 13 Hoosac St. Adams. Rev. Steven Montesanti, Pastor of the Parish of St. John Paul II, Adams, will officiate. Burial will follow in Bellevue Cemetery, Adams. 

Calling hours will be held on Friday, May 4, 2018, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, PO Box 758517, Topeka, KS 66675-8517, or to the Shriners Hospital for Children, 516 Carew St. Springfield, MA 01104.

I met Jim 30 plus years ago when I started working in Dining Services at Williams. We had a lot of fun and a lot of laughs while working together. He was one of a kind and will truly be missed by a lot of people who knew him. I am so sorry for your loss.
