Alexander A. Aubin, 82

STAMFORD, Vt. — Alexander Ambrose Aubin, 82, of Stamford, Vt., died peacefully on Monday May 28, 2018, at home surrounded by his wife of 53 years and his four children.
Alex was born in Adams, Mass., on March 4, 1936, to the late Nelson and Margaret (LaFountain) Aubin. He attended local schools in Adams and served in the National Guard in the Company M 104th infantry from 1954-1956. Alexander worked at the former James Hunter Machine (Morrison Berkshire), from which he retired. After his marriage to Bernadette (Lescarbeau) in 1964, they moved to Stamford, Vt., where they raised their four children and he served as town constable for many years.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Debra (Aubin) Allen and her husband James of New Ashford, Mass., Brenda Aubin of North Adams, Mass., Alan Aubin and his wife Peggie Neville of Hoosick Falls, N.Y., and Kevin Aubin and his fiancée Michele Carlowe of Adams, Mass.; eight grandchildren, Andrew and Alexandra Allen, Delana and Callen Aubin, Brendan Kordana, and Brayton, Slayter, and Ty Jacob Aubin; and several nieces and nephews.
He was the last of his immediate family. His eight siblings predeceased him: Nelson Jr., Joseph, Francis, Delia, Mary, Yvonne, Theresa and Florence.
The family would like to thank his hospice nurse, Michelle, for the wonderful compassionate care she delivered during this difficult time.
Funeral notice: A funeral to celebrate the life of Alexander Aubin will be celebrated on Saturday, June 2, 2018, at 10 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in North Adams, Mass. Burial will follow in Bellevue cemetery, Adams, Mass.
Calling hours will be on Friday evening, June 1, 2018, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, West Chapel, 521 West Main St., North Adams, MA 01247. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to either the Stamford Volunteer Fire Department, VNH Hospice of VT and NH, or Baptist Church of North Adams in care of the funeral home.
