ADAMS, Mass. — Mrs. Marion J. (Brooks) Baran, 87, of Adams died on Wednesday, May 30, 2018, at Williamstown Commons. 

She was born in Adams on October 30, 1930, daughter of the late Jeddie and Edith (Revoir) Brooks. She attended schools in Adams and graduated from the former Adams High School. Mrs. Baran worked as a bookkeeper for the YMCA in North Adams for many years until retiring. 

She was a communicant of the Parish of St. John Paul II at Notre Dame des Sept Douleurs Church, Adams. 

Her husband, Walter B. Baran, whom she married on September 3, 1951, died on April 2, 2016. 

She is survived by one son, Paul Baran and his wife Michele of Adams; two daughters, Pamela Sommer and her husband Donald of Adams and Teresa Waryjasz and her husband Edward of Adams; her daughter-in-law, Michelle Perrier of Savoy; one brother, Michael Brooks; one sister, Carol Favreau; six grandchildren, Amy, Michael, Marnie, Jessica, Clay and Emma; seven great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. 

She was predeceased by her son, Jeffrey Baran, who died on August 26, 2014; two brothers, Jeddie and Robert Brooks; and two sisters, Frances Bryson and Esther Kelly. 

Funeral notice: The funeral will be held on Saturday, June 2, 2018, at 9 a.m. from the Paciorek Funeral Home, 13 Hoosac St., Adams, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Notre Dame des Sept Douleurs Church, McKinley Square, Adams, celebrated by Rev. Steven Montesanti, pastor. 

Burial will follow in Bellevue Cemetery, Adams. Calling hours are Friday, June 1, 2018, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
