Wilfred G. Rondeau, 93

READSBORO, Vt. — Wilfred G. Rondeau, 93, of Readsboro, Vt., formerly of Stamford, Vt., died on Wednesday, October 3, 2018, at the Vermont Veterans Home in Bennington, Vt.

He was born in North Adams, Mass., on February 6, 1925, a son to the late, Oliver and Leonie (Rougeau) Rondeau. He attended schools in Stamford. He was a decorated veteran of WWII, serving with the US Air Force. In his earlier years he was employed at Sprague Electric and was last employed for over 40 years as a self-employed logger and owned a saw mill.

He was a member of the Readsboro American Legion.

Mr. Rondeau married his wife, the former Jeannette Marie Foote, on August 3, 1946. She died on May 5, 2013.

Survivors include his daughter, Linda Pellerin and her husband, William, of Gastonia, N.C.; a son, James F. Rondeau and his wife, Denise, of Stamford, Vt.; four grandchildren, Aimee Pellerin Phillips, Laura Pellerin, Chad Rondeau and Christine Sprague; several great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren and step-grandchildren; a brother, Daniel Rondeau of Stamford; and two sisters, Rachel Tatro of North Adams and Theresa Dix of Clarksburg.

He was predeceased by three grandchildren, James, Jane and Sarah Rondeau; two sisters, Doris Roberts and Cecile Pratt; and five brothers, Ernest, Joseph, Oliver, Thomas and Francis "Pete" Rondeau.

Funeral notice: Funeral services to celebrate the life of Wilfred G. Rondeau will take place on Tuesday, October 9, 2018, at 11 a.m. at the Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, West Chapel, 521 West Main St., North Adams, Mass. Burial, with military honors, will follow in the Eastlawn Cemetery in Williamstown, Mass.

Calling hours will be held at the funeral home are Monday, October 8, 2018, from 4 to 7 p.m. Memorial donations are suggested for the Readsboro Volunteer Fire Department through the funeral home.
