Peter I. Whitney, 73
CHESHIRE, Mass. — Mr. Peter I. Whitney, 73, of Cheshire, died Tuesday, March 10, 2020, at his home.
He was born in Adams on April 13, 1946, a son of the late Charles and Fronie (Jones) Whitney. He attended schools in Cheshire, and graduated from Mt. Greylock Regional High School, Williamstown.
Peter was a dairy farmer all of his life, and operated Whitney’s Farm in Cheshire with his family for many years. He had served on the Town of Cheshire Zoning Board of Appeals for many years, and enjoyed deep sea fishing and spending time with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, the former Eileen Pietrzyk, whom he married on April 27, 1968; a son, Eric Whitney and his wife, Michelle, of Cheshire; a daughter, Elise Minassian and her husband, Varant, of Suffield, Conn.; four grandchildren, Olivia and Sage Whitney and Ellara and Naeva Minassian; two brothers, Michael Whitney and his wife, Carolyn, and Jay Whitney, both of Cheshire; as well as several nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
He was predeceased by a brother, Charles Whitney.
