Kenneth R. Harwood, 87
SAVOY, Mass. — Mr. Kenneth R. Harwood, 87, of Savoy, died Monday afternoon, November 23, 2020, at Craneville Place in Dalton. He was born in Adams on April 14, 1933, a son of the late Archie and Ruth (Kemp) Harwood, and attended Savoy schools. He was a Veteran of the Korean War, serving with Company F, 349th Infantry of the US Army. Ken was a logger and sawyer his whole life, and operated his own sawmill for many years until he retired. He enjoyed hunting, playing the banjo, raising Belgian horses. and was an original member of the Brier Boys. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, the former Isabelle E. Goodermote, whom he married on December 26, 1964; his son, Michael Harwood and his wife, Karen, of Savoy; two daughters, Cindy Blair and her companion, Raffi Abrahamian, of Winter Springs, FL and Joan Harwood and her companion, David Moran of Cheshire; a granddaughter, Clarissa Harwood of Turners Falls; his brother, Donald Harwood of Savoy, as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sisters, Edith Miner and Marion Torrey. A graveside funeral service will be held on Saturday, Nov. 28th, at 11:00 AM in Spruce Corner Cemetery, Barnard Rd., Savoy, MA 01256. Due to current regulations, use of face masks and social distancing will be strictly enforced. There are no calling hours.
