Paul Massari, 61

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. —  Paul Russell Massari, 61 of North Adams, MA died Wednesday January 19, 2022 at Berkshire Medical Center.

He was born in North Adams, MA on April 4, 1960, a son of the late Silvano Cesare Massari and Jean Edith (Hubley) Massari. He attended Readsboro schools and graduated from Whitingham VT High School.

Paul was employed at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Pittsfield for many years. He enjoyed collecting guns and riding his motorcycle. Paul especially loved his dog, Max.

Survivors include his wife, Gail Lynn (Nott) Massari whom he married on November 16, 1984 and three daughters- Trish Mersman of Kansas; Tabatha Massari of North Adams; and Isabella Massari of Williamstown; and three sons- Paul R. Massari Jr of Katy, TX; Anthony Massari of North Adams and Stefan Massari of Clarksburg. He also leaves several grandchildren; four brothers including Wayne Massari of Rutland, VT; Aaron Massari of Readsboro, VT; Peter Massari of Brattleboro, VT and Joni Massari of Wilmington, VT and nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, Michael Massari and his longtime companion, Susan Shepard.

FUNERAL NOTICE: A Liturgy of Christian Burial for Paul R. Massari will be celebrated at St. Joachim's Church in Readsboro, VT at 1:30 PM on Thursday January 27, 2022. Gail and kids, It was with genuine sadness that I read about Paul's passing. He was always kind and respectful and the love he felt for his family was evident. There aren't many like him in this world.

I grew up with Paul. He was two years older and always seemed to have my back. He could hit a baseball like nobody else and nobody messed with him, and he messed with no one. Always a great friend we spent a lot of time together. Sorry for your loss. Sending my thoughts and prayers.
