Mildred Gasperini

Mildred Josephine Gasperini, 87, of Clayton Road, Ashley Falls, died yesterday in Great Barrington. Born in New Marlboro on Oct. 28, 1914, daughter of Dwight H. and Mary Rood Bentley, she attended local schools. A homemaker, she enjoyed cooking, baking, gardening and her dog, Midnight. Her husband, John E. Gasperini, whom she married in Great Barrington in 1955, died in 1994. She leaves a son, David J. Gasperini of Great Barrington, and two grandchildren. A daughter, Joan Mary Surdam, died in 1948. The family will receive friends Thursday, Jan. 31, from 4 to 7 at FINNERTY & STEVENS FUNERAL HOME. Funeral services will be held Friday, Feb. 1, at 11 from the funeral home, with the Rev. Charles VanAusdall, pastor of First Congregational Church, officiating. Burial will follow in Ashley Falls Cemetery. Donations may be made to First Congregational Church, Great Barrington, in care of the funeral home, 426 Main St., Great Barrington, MA, 01230.
