Bertha Havey

Bertha Havey, 79, of 35 Pleasant St. died Tuesday at North Adams Commons Health Care Center. Born in Berlin, N.Y., on Feb. 8, 1922, daughter of Allan and Orcelia Horton Southard, she attended schools there and graduated from Berlin High School. She moved to Cheshire in 1939 and to Adams in 1957. She was employed by Modern Aluminum Anodizing Corp. in North Adams for 15 years, retiring in 1990. Her husband, Raymond Havey, whom she married Feb. 11, 1947, died June 30, 1997. She leaves a son, Norman Lappies of Cheshire; two grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. Services will take place Friday morning, Feb. 1, at 10 a.m. from TROTTIER-PRINGLE FUNERAL HOME in Adams. Burial will follow in Bellevue Cemetery, Adams. Calling hours at the funeral home will be Thursday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m.
