Ronald S. Bayles

Ronald S. Bayles, 65, of East Longmeadow died Jan. 21 at the East Longmeadow Skilled Nursing Center. He was the father of Lawrence E. Bayles of Stockbridge. Born in Oklahoma City on Dec. 7, 1936, son of the late Stuart and Capitola Davis Bayles, he was a longtime resident of Virginia Beach and had recently moved to East Longmeadow. He served in the Navy, retiring in 1981 with the rank of commander. Besides his son, he leaves another son, Stuart Bayles of Albuquerque, N.M., and a sister, Julie Golden of Corpus Christi, Texas. A memorial service will be held Saturday, Feb. 2, at 10 a.m. at HAFEY SPRINGFIELD CHAPELS, 494 Belmont Ave., Springfield. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association-Massachusetts Chapter, P.O. Box 2873, Springfield, MA 01101-2873.
