Lt. Bruce R. Patenaude, 74

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Lt. Bruce Robert Patenaude, 74 of North Adams died Tuesday, Oct. 11, 2022, at his home, surrounded by his family.
He was born in North Adams on July 30, 1948, a son of Robert E. Patenaude and Frances Yvonne Polumbo Patenaude. He attended local schools and graduated from the former St. Joseph's High School.
Bruce was a lieutenant with the North Adams Fire Department, where he served for 30 years until his retirement in 1999. Before that, he worked at the former Adams Super Market.
He was a communicant of St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church and was a member of the North Adams Elks. Bruce was an avid fan of the New England Patriots football team and also enjoyed bowling. He coached the Elks team in the North Adams Little League for over 20 years.
Survivors include his wife, Suzanne Marie LeClair Patenaude whom he married on Aug. 3, 1974, and three sons, Robert J. (Joanne) Patenaude of Clarksburg, and Mark E. (Amy) Patenaude and Scott M. (Cynthia) Patenaude, all of North Adams; he also leaves six grandchildren, Molly Rose, Emily Claire, Brady Robert, Olivia Marie, Ryan Charles and Elynore Marian; four sisters, Louise Kaigle of Orlando, Fla., and Jacqueline Sanguinet and Judith Patenaude, both of Leominster, and Jane LeBeau of Cheshire; and nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his brother and sister-in-law, Joseph and Jan Patenaude.
FUNERAL NOTICE: A Liturgy of Christian Burial for Lt. Bruce Patenaude will be celebrated Monday, Oct. 17, 2022, at 11 a.m. from St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church. Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery.
