Fran Rosasco, 77

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. —  Fran Albert Rosasco, 77, of Williamstown died on Tuesday, November 22, 2022 at his home. He was born on March 31, 1945 in North Adams, MA; son of the late Francis & Katherine (Salvatore) Rosasco.

Fran was employed as a Private Pilot for many years at Diamond International Corporation and head of a private security company out of New York, NY. He was later Director of Aviation for PVT Limited.

He was awarded the Pilot Safety Award by the National Business Aircraft Association in recognition of having been pilot in command of commercial aircraft operated for a total of 1,684,770 or more consecutive nautical miles [JR1] without damage to property or injury to persons.

Fran was also commemorated by the Star-Jet Corporation, for his record setting flight in March of 1982. He completed the flight from New York, NY to Athens, Greece covering 4,310 nautical miles in only 9 hours and 3 minutes.

Throughout his career he transported many people of note, including but not limited to Oprah Winfrey, Russell Crowe, Nicole Kidman, Dennis Rodman, and a number of foreign and domestic diplomats and leaders.

Fran loved to travel, to undertake adventures, and to share the wide world with his children. He enjoyed skiing, golf, motorcycles, cars, blackjack, backgammon, and a nice port wine. He listened to Elvis and Frank Sinatra and loved watching the fights with his daughter.

Fran was a generous man with an indefatigable sense of humor, who always went out of his way to help friends and neighbors. He was a strong, brilliant, and kind person; an uncommonly hard worker and a mentor to many.

Fran is survived by his wife, Pamela Jean (Boudreau) Rosasco whom he married on October 13, 1984. He also leaves his children, Jason Rosasco of Switzerland, Alexis Rosasco-Emond (Cody) of Clarksburg, and his stepson John Petri (Elizabeth) of Virginia. He also leaves his step grandchildren, Chase Petri and Jake Petri, as well as his sister, Kathryn Rosasco RN of North Adams and his beloved dog, Nugget.

Sorry to hear of Fran's passing. He used to come in our shop, Parker Machine, many years ago to visit our boss. He was always interesting to talk to, and seemed to live a very good life. Rest in Peace Fran.

Dear Pam, We already miss Fran so much. He made us feel incredibly welcome in this neighborhood and made our transition from the west coast much more enjoyable. He amazed us with his kindness, generosity and care for everyone he knew and loved. We loved listening to his stories. He never failed to make us laugh. Franco especially misses his new friend. He sincerely enjoyed the time he spent with Fran and is so sad their adventures have come to an end. Every time we drive by your house, we still look to see if he is there. May God surround you and your family with comfort and peace during this incredibly difficult time. If you ever need anything, we are here.

Dear Pam,
I'm going to miss Fran's daily smile and wave whenever he was out working in the yard (which was quite often it seemed) and he'd see me coming or going from home. If he saw me waiting for my daughter for the school bus, he'd come over and talk to me. He helped me really feel like this neighborhood was like a home, and I'm going to miss him greatly. I'm just across the street if you ever need anything.
