Janice M. Evans, 73

CLARKSBURG, Mass. — Mrs. Janice M. Evans, 73, of Clarksburg, died on Wednesday, Dec. 14, 2022, at her home.

She was born in Adams on Aug. 31, 1949, daughter of the late Frank and Blanche Szukala Tenczar. She attended schools in Adams and graduated from the former Adams Memorial High School.

Janice worked for many years at Williams College, retiring as the administrative assistant to the director of human resources.

She was an avid bowler, a member of the former North Adams Regional Hospital Ladies Auxiliary, and enjoyed making stuffed bears for children requiring services at the hospital. During the past few years, Janice began traveling with her amazing friends, having traveled all over the world to places including Australia, New Zealand, Europe, Hawaii, the Caribbean and cruising the Panama Canal.

Her husband, Howard W. Evans, whom she married on May 3, 1975, died on May 26, 2014.

She is survived by her daughter Julie Kucyn and her husband, Andrew, of Billerica; four grandchildren, Timothy and Katherine Kucyn of Billerica and Logan and Abigail Evans and their mother, Shannon Terranova, of Burke, VA; her brother Ronald Tenczar of Cheshire and by many nieces and nephews.

Besides her husband, Janice was predeceased by her son, Capitol Police Officer William "Billy" Evans who died in the line of duty on April 2, 2021, and by two brothers, Richard and Francis Tenczar.

FUNERAL NOTICE: The funeral for Mrs. Evans will be held on Friday, Dec. 23, at 9 a.m. from PACIOREK FUNERAL HOME, 13 Hoosac St., Adams, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 in St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, Adams.

Burial will follow in Bellevue Cemetery, Adams.

Calling hours are Thursday from 5 until 7 p.m. at the funeral home.

I am just hearing about Janice and I am so sorry for your loss. I worked with Janice and found her to be the kindest person. She has been through a lot in recent years. May she Rest In Peace with her family.
