Alice Modena, 98

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. —  Alice Pauline (Domenichini) Modena, 98 of Sandia, Texas and formerly of North Adams, MA died on Monday, January 22, 2024 at Villa Northwest in Corpus Christi.

She was born in Whitingham, VT on December 21, 1925 a daughter of Joseph and Mary (Bedini) Domenichini. She graduated as the salutatorian of the Whitingham High School class of 1944 and graduated from the Bliss Business College.

Alice worked in the cafeteria at the Johnson and Brayton Schools in North Adams for 37 years until her retirement. She then volunteered in the “Grandparent Program” at Brayton School. She was a communicant of St. Anthony of Padua Church. Alice enjoyed crafts, cooking, gardening, and sharing her vegetables with her neighbors. She enjoyed trips to the casino and all sports especially the Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots. Alice also loved fishing with her husband and children.

She was the widow of Albert Victor Modena who died on September 26, 2010. They were married October 26, 1946 in St. Anthony of Padua Church.

Survivors include her daughter, Carol (William) Ulch of Sandia, TX and her son, Paul (Susan) Modena of Cape Coral, Florida. She also leaves three grandsons, Brian Modena, Ross Modena, and Will Ulch; four great grandchildren; one brother, Carlo Domenichini of North Adams and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by three brothers, Orlando, Clifford, and Alfred Domenichini and her niece Paula Domenichini.

Paul I am so very sorry to hear about Alice's passing. She was a sweet lady and loved by many. I loved the way she kept you dad in line,,, the love between them was so special. They are now back together so they can share eternity together. She had a very full and happy life, God bless her!!!

Carol, I remember when we were friends at Freeman School and our moms were our brownie and girl scout leaders! Your mom and I kept in touch thru the years, often chatting in school and then In later years in the super market.
