Richard "Ricky" Mangiardi, Jr. , age 33

Richard "Ricky" Mangiardi, Jr., age 33, of Pittsfield died suddenly on Saturday, February 3, 2024 in Lowville, NY following a snowmobiling accident.

Born in Pittsfield on January 11, 1991, Ricky was a son of Richard Mangiardi, Sr. and Tracy (Hood) Keyes. He attended Lanesboro Elementary, Mt. Greylock Regional High School and McCann Tech graduating in 2009 from the electrical program.

Ricky married the former Jamie Bondini on October 10, 2020 and was so proud to call her his soulmate and best friend. You never saw one without the other. For the past six years they went on an annual Cape Cod trip, and that’s where he proposed to her.

He was an Operating Engineer for North East Paving Company for over 6 years and a member of Local 98 Operators Union for 10 years.  He and Jamie also owned RM Lawn Care for the past 8 years in Pittsfield.

He had a passion for the outdoors and all the Berkshires have to offer. Ricky enjoyed hunting, boating, ice fishing, 4 wheeling, snowmobiling and especially hockey. He excelled at hockey in his younger years playing for both local and regional teams. He looked forward to following both the Boston Bruins and New Jersey Devils every season.

Family and friends meant so much to him and he lived life to the fullest. His infectious smile brought joy to the faces of all who met him and he had a heart of gold. Ricky was the first to be there for anyone in need and will be remembered for his kindness, his passion for life and his hard work ethic.

In addition to his loving wife Jamie, his parents Richard Mangiardi Sr. and Tracy Keyes of Pittsfield, Ricky is survived by his sister Alyssa Mangiardi of Lanesboro, nephew and Godson Weston, Godsons Wattson and Oliver, his 2 dogs Cooper and Milla and cat Mopar and many beloved cousins, friends and extended family members.

Ricky was predeceased by his great grandmother Loretta (Nani) Monteleone, grandparents Robert “Hoodie” Hood and Thelma Hood, and uncles Jack Hood and Tommy Gentzler.

A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, February 16, 2024 at 10AM at St. Agnes Catholic Church in Dalton, with Rev. Christopher Malatesta, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in memory of Ricky may be made payable to “St. Jude Children’s Hospital” and mailed to the Devanny-Condron Funeral Home 40 Maplewood Ave. Pittsfield, MA 01201
