Orella Robare, 101

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Orella L. Tatro Robare, 101, of North Adams died on Wednesday, March 27, 2024, at home surrounded by her loving family.

Orella was born in North Adams on July 6, 1922, a daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Lemieux Tatro.

Orella attended schools in North Adams including the former Notre Dame Parochial School and Drury High School.

She worked for Sprague Electric and Wall-Streeter Shoe Co. then as a waitress for several years at the Tally House, Hub Restaurant, and the Capitol. Orella never missed a dance at the State Armory, Moose Lodge, or the Sons of Italy. She met her husband, William Robare, at a dance at the State Armory and they were married on Oct. 6, 1945. Orella volunteered for several years at the Spitzer Center, loved bingo and was an avid Red Sox fan.

Orella leaves her daughter, Diane Pratt of North Adams; grandchildren, Donald Dubreuil and his significant other Donna Garner, Denise Dubreuil and her significant other James Holmes, Joseph Badger and his husband Robert, Michelle Nicklien and her husband Shawn, William Beliveau and his wife Lisa, Tammy Beliveau. She also leaves several great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She also leaves her goddaughter, Betty Arnold.

She was predeceased by her husband, William Robare, daughter Donna Hurley, granddaughters Annette Cote and Bobby Jo Stanley and her siblings, Stanley Tatro, Clarence Tatro and Exzelia Ruth Beer.

FUNERAL NOTICE: A funeral to celebrate the life of Orella Robare will be on Wednesday, April 3, 2024, at 11 a.m. at Flynn & Dagnoli Funeral Homes, West Chapels, 521 West Main St., North Adams. Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery. Calling hours will be Wednesday from 9 to 11 a.m. at the funeral. Donations may be made in her memory to the Funeral Home.
