Gloria Phelps,94

Gloria Theresa (Dumouchel) Phelps, 94, of North Adams died Tuesday June 4, 2024 at Mount Carmel Care Center in Lenox after a brief illness.

She was born in North Adams on June 26, 1929 a daughter of Telesphore and Delia (Chenail) Dumouchel. Gloria attended the Notre Dame Parochial School and graduated from Bliss Business College in North Adams, MA.

She was first employed at WF Woolworth Store in North Adams, then at Child & Family Center and as a secretary for Attorney John Reed. She was last employed at the Hoosac Bank in North Adams as a secretary in the Loan Department until her retirement. She was a former communicant of Notre Dame du Sacre Coeur Church in North Adams and later at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church.

Her husband Lawrence William Phelps, whom she married on October 13, 1951 in Notre Dame Church, died August 11, 2021. Survivors include her loving daughters Estelle Graziola (John) of Pittsfield, Marilyn Kolis (Ted) of Adams and Jeanne Bohm (Alex) of Greensboro, NC. She was predeceased by a daughter Lisa Tuttle who died March 13, 2022. Gloria also leaves grandchildren David and Kara Graziola, Jamie and Stacy Kolis and Kaitlyn and Lauren Tuttle, great grandchildren; Jeffrey “JJ”, Lucas, Madison and Vincent. She was predeceased by brothers and sisters Thomas Dumouchel, Stella Carlow, Lionel Dumouchel, Freda Marriott and Donald Dumouchel.

A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday June 10, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Elizabeth Church in North Adams. Burial will take place at a later date. A Calling Hour at the Flynn & Dagnoli Funeral Home, CENTRAL CHAPELS, 74 Marshall St. North Adams, MA. are Monday from 10:00 A.M. TO 11:00 A.M.
