Peter Krzeminski Jr.

Peter John Krzeminski Jr. 72, of 124 North Summer St., Adams, died yesterday at Williamstown Commons Health Care Center, where he was admitted three weeks ago. Born in Adams on Aug. 17, 1928, son of the late Peter and Mary Zoltek Krzeminski, and attended Adams schools, graduating from the former Adams High School in 1947. Mr. Krzeminski worked in the power transformer division of General Electric Co. in Pittsfield for 23 years, until retiring in 1990. He was a veteran of the Korean War, serving with Company C, 12th Engineer Battalion of the U.S. Army, from 1952 until being promoted to sergeant in 1954. He played semipro football as a young man with the Adams Saints football team. He was a communicant of St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, Adams. A member of the Northern Berkshire Retired Men's Bowling League, he also enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, the former Mary T. Babiec, whom he married on May 7, 1949; a daughter, Kristine Megaro of Cheshire; a brother, John Krzeminski of Adams; a sister, Frances Filip of Adams, and six grandchildren. A sister, Mrs. Daisy Czelusniak, died April 7, 1986. The funeral will be Saturday at 9:15 a.m. from AUGE-PACIOREK-SIMMONS FUNERAL HOME, 13 Hoosac St., Adams, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, Adams, celebrated by Rev. John C. Chwalek, pastor. Burial will follow in St. Stanislaus Kostka Cemetery, Adams. Calling hours are Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to St. Stanislaus Church through the funeral home.
