Artso J. Bormolini

Artso John "Pat" Bormolini, 90, formerly of 42 Northern Lights Ave. and longtime resident of Ashland Street, died yesterday morning at Hillcrest Commons in Pittsfield. Born in West Stockbridge on Sept. 10, 1911, son of Andrea and Maria Balardini Bormolini, he moved to Adams in 1923 and was educated in West Stockbridge and Adams schools. A veteran of World War II, he served with the Marines and participated in the second wave of the invasion of Okinawa. He also was stationed in China for a time. He served at the White House and at Arlington National Cemetery. Mr. Bormolini worked for the former Hoosac Valley Lime Co., which later became Shea Chemical and Hooker Chemical and is currently Holland Co. He retired in 1964 after 36 years of service. He owned and operated Berkshire Pest Control for 13 years until retiring in 1977. Mr. Bormolini was a communicant of St. Anthony's Church and was a member of Post 125 American Legion, Post 996 VFW and the Senior Citizens organization. He leaves his wife, the former Lesa M. Daniels, whom he married Oct. 11, 1941; a daughter, Paula M. Harrison of Hinsdale; a brother, John Bormolini of Atlanta; two sisters, Polly Hancock of Tucson, Ariz., and Delphine Jenks of Adams; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Three sisters and three brothers are deceased, including Rita Bormolini, Mary Salvato, Rose Astorino, and Henry, Serino and Andrew Bormolini. The funeral will be Wednesday at 9:15 from FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS, Central Chapels, 74 Marshall St. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 at the St. Anthony's Church parish center by the Rev. Daniel J. O'Hear, pastor. Burial will be in Southview Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home will be Tuesday from 4 to 7. Donations may be made to the St. Anthony Building Fund in care of the funeral home.
