Anne H. Moore

Anne H. Moore, 70, of Spring Arbor, Mich., formerly of Sandisfield, died Feb. 18, at home after a two-year battle with ovarian cancer. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., on May 23, 1931, daughter of Willard R. and Frances Potter Platt, she moved to Sandisfield in 1940 and was a graduate of the Northfield School for Girls. She was an active member of the Jackson, Mich., community with various organizations, including the East Congregational Church of East Grand Rapids, the Jackson Symphony Orchestra, the Michigan Space and Science Center, and the Jackson Junior Welfare League. She also was active with the Concord Elementary School Parent Teacher Organization, the Jackson County Rose Pageant and the Jackson County Fair. She received recognition for her leadership by receiving the Jenny Spiesberger Distinguished Service Award from the Jackson Symphony Guild. She also received the Paul Harris Fellowship Award from Rotary International. She funded a scholarship for outstanding performance at the Northfield School for Girls. She leaves her husband of 50 years, Robert Moore; two daughters, Anne Moore Keller of Hillsborough, N.C., and Robyn Moore Jacobson of Houston; a brother, Willard Platt of Sandisfield, and a grandson.
