Victoria Bourassa

Victoria Veronica Bourassa, 94, of 461 State Road died Saturday at Sweet Brook Health Care Center in Williamstown. Born in North Adams on Sept. 7, 1907, daughter of John and Frances Sokolowski Kendrick, she graduated from the former St. Joseph's High School and from the former Bliss Business School. Mrs. Bourassa was first employed by the former Hoosac Cotton Mills and by the former Berkshire Fine Spinning Associates in Adams. She also worked at the Williams Inn in Williamstown and was last employed by General Cable in Pownal, Vt., retiring in 1974. She was a longtime communicant of Holy Family Church, now Our Lady of Mercy Church. She enjoyed tatting. Her husband, Alfred J. Bourassa Sr., whom she married Oct. 2, 1933, died March 15, 1949. She leaves a daughter, Nancy R. McShane of Williamstown; two sons, Alfred J. Bourassa Jr. of Adams and Francis J. Bourassa of Eastport, N.Y.; a sister, Bertha J. Jennings of North Adams, and two grandchildren. She was predeceased by two brothers and three sisters, John Kendrick, Stanislas John "Stanley" Kendrick, Frances Solari, Josephine Roe and Mary Butrymowicz. The funeral will be Wednesday at 8:15 from FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS, West Chapels, 521 West Main St., followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 9 at Our Lady of Mercy Church. Burial will follow in the family plot in Southview Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home will be tomorrow from 3 to 7. Memorial donations are suggested to the Sweet Brook Activities Fund or to Our Lady of Mercy Church through the funeral home.
