Darrell James Brunet, 18, of 262 George Schnopp Road died Saturday evening from injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident in Hinsdale. Born in Pittsfield on Dec. 22, 1983, son of Kris and Denise Brunet Sargent, he attended Wahconah Regional High School. At the time of his death, Mr. Brunet was employed as a power coating technician at Berkshire Custom Coating in Pittsfield. He enjoyed playing baseball, snowboarding and riding dirt bikes. Besides his parents, of Hinsdale, he leaves a sister, Megan Sargent, and a brother, Leland Sargent, both at home, and his paternal grandparents, Harold W. Sargent Jr. and his wife, Joy Sargent, of Springfield, Vt., and Diane Sargent MacDonald, and her husband, Stanley MacDonald, of Alfred, Maine. He was predeceased by his maternal grandparents, Gene and Lorraine Cormier Brunet. The funeral will be Thursday, March 7, at 8:15 from DERY-FOLEY FUNERAL HOME, 890 East Main St., Dalton, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial celebrated at 9 at St. Agnes' Church by the Rev. John A. Koonz, pastor. Burial will be at the convenience of the family in Maple Street Cemetery, Hinsdale. Calling hours at the funeral home will be Wednesday from 4 to 8. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Darrell may be made to the Hinsdale Lions Club in care of funeral home, 890 East Main St., Dalton, MA 01226.
