NORTH ADAMS, Mass. —Marlene Anne (DuBois) Olds, 87, of North Adams, died Tuesday evening, December 9, 2025 at Berkshire Medical Center. She was born in North Adams on November 7, 1938, daughter of the late Rene and Lena (Benoit) DuBois, and attended local schools. Marlene worked as a cashier at the former Grand Union and Mammoth Mart, worked in the office at the former Sears Roebuck store, and had worked as a receptionist at the front desk at the Berkshire Museum. Marlene had also lived in Arizona for four years and had spent several winters in Florida. She had been a member of the Blackinton Union Church, North Adams, and was a member of the Adams Senior Citizens. She also enjoyed playing Bingo with the Clarksburg Seniors. She loved to travel and was fortunate to visit many resort destinations. Marlene was predeceased by her husbands Ralph Mariani, Jr., Thomas Hinckley and George Robert Olds. She is survived by her children Bruce Mariani and his spouse Petraca of Bennington, VT; Tina DiSanti, and Linda Mariani and her spouse Melinda Lortie, both of Adams; her sister Sandra Ahola of North Adams, 4 grandchildren, 4 step grandchildren, and several great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her son, Ronald Mariani, and her son-in-law Robert DiSanti. Marlene’s family would like to thank the staff of the Emergency Department and 3rd Floor West at Berkshire Medical Center for the care and kindness they provided to Marlene and her family. The funeral will be held on Thursday, Dec. 18th at 12 Noon in the PACIOREK FUNERAL HOME, 13 Hoosac St. Adams. Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery, North Adams. A calling hour will be held on Thursday from 11 AM until 12 noon, directly before the funeral, in the funeral home.
