Fadie J. Boone, 56, of Bernie Gibbons Drive died Monday at Fairview Hospital. Born in Vienna, Ga., on Jan. 9, 1946, daughter of Gladys Pringle Young, she graduated from Vienna High and Industrial School in 1963 and moved to Great Barrington in 1968. She was employed at Ried Cleaners in Great Barrington until retiring because of illness in 1983. Mrs. Boone was a member of Clinton AME Zion Church, where she sang in the choir and served the church and community in various ways. In Vienna, she was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church, where she also sang. Her husband, Matthew Boone Jr., whom she married June 29, 1985, died in 1997. She leaves a son, Zachary Hooks of Vienna; honorary son, Dean Demetrious Pringle, two sisters, Joyce Lewis of Vienna and Juanita Sims of East Point, Ga.; a brother, Artis Lavender of Atlanta, and two grandchildren. The funeral will be Friday, March 8, at 7 p.m. at FINNERTY & STEVENS FUNERAL HOME, Great Barrington, with the Rev. Esther Dozier, pastor of Clinton AME Zion Church, officiating. Burial will be Monday, March 12, at 11 at Elmwood Cemetery in Great Barrington. There will be no calling hours. Donations may be made to Clinton AME Zion Church in care of the funeral home, 426 Main St., Great Barrington, MA 01230.
