Ronald A. Moon, 88

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Ronald Allen Moon, 88 of North Adams, MA died on Thursday February 19, 2026 at his home.

He was born in Williamstown, MA on May 10, 1937, a son of Floyd Ernest Moon and Minnie Louise Moon. He graduated from the Williamstown High School in the class of 1955 and graduated from Springfield Technical College.

He was a veteran of the US Marine Corps serving from 1956 to 1959.

Ron worked for Verizon for over 30 years until his retirement. He was a member of the Williams Lodge of Masons and enjoyed motorsports racing but decided his favorite sport was watching whatever his grandchildren were playing.

His wife was Marie Theresa (Esposito) Moon who died on January 18, 2018. Survivors include two daughters, Michelle (Michael) Penna of Versailles, KY and Melissa Moon of Cheshire, MA. He also leaves 2 grandchildren, Mia Parise and Cameron Parise; his longtime companion, Gail Cushman and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother and sister, Richard Moon and Lorna Cushing.

FUNERAL NOTICE: The funeral for Ronald Moon will be Monday March 2, 2026 at 5:00 PM at FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS WEST CHAPELS, 521 West Main St. North Adams, MA. Burial will be private. A calling hour will be held at the funeral home Monday March 2 from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM. Memorial donations may be made to Team Grandma Marie in honor of the Alzheimer’s Association in care of the funeral home. To Ron's family and Gail, his wonderful companion, I was shocked to read about the passing of my dear friend and neighbor Ron. He was an amazing neighbor and helped me in so many ways. He used to hold my ladder when I was trimming my tall hedge in the backyard and did so many other things when he saw me outside. I will miss his smile, his friendly demeanor and his advice. He was a gentleman through and through. May he rest in peace because that is what he brought to this world.
