Alicia Brown, 40

Alicia Marie Brown
October 1, 1986 – February 26, 2026
Alicia Marie Brown, 40, of North Adams, MA, passed away unexpectedly at Hillcrest Commons on February 26, 2026. She was born in North Adams to Marcia Ellen Brown and the late Mark Wilfred Brown.
Alicia attended Conte Middle School and Drury High School. She worked as a Personal Care Attendant for Molari, where she found joy in caring for others. Above all else, Alicia loved her children—Andrew, Isiah, Aleaha, Jadia, and Amara—and they were the very heart of her life.
Alicia shared a special and enduring bond with her late grandmother, Ruth E. Wright. Many of her happiest childhood memories were spent at her grandmother’s side, playing Uno, Aggravation, and countless other board games. It was during those cherished moments that her love for crafts and creativity first began to bloom.
Throughout her life, Alicia faced many difficult challenges, yet she carried a remarkable strength within her. She was deeply proud of her hard-won sobriety over the past year—a testament to her courage, determination, and desire to build a better life for herself and her children. Though her time here was far too short, the love she gave and the connections she made will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her. Alicia was often described as kind, loving, and, at times, stubborn in the most endearing way. She treasured every moment spent with her family and took immense pride in her children and their accomplishments.
Alicia had a natural gift for poetry and found comfort in word search books, arts and crafts, and creative projects of all kinds. Over the past year, she formed many meaningful relationships, and one of the most important to her was her deepening relationship with God—a source of peace, hope, and renewal in her life.
The family wishes to acknowledge Pastor Dave Anderson and Terri Braman of the First Baptist Church, whose unwavering spiritual guidance and steadfast presence were a profound source of strength for Alicia and her family. Their compassion, prayers, and willingness to walk beside her through some of her most difficult moments left an impact that words can scarcely express.
Alicia’s family also extends their deepest gratitude to the staff at Hillcrest Commons, with special appreciation for Valerie Boua, whose dedication and compassion as a Licensed Nurse made her one of Alicia’s greatest supporters. The family also wishes to recognize the many nurses, nursing assistants, case workers, and others who cared for Alicia during her time there. Their kindness and commitment will never be forgotten.
Alicia leaves behind her five beautiful children: Andrew, Isaiah, Aleaha, Jaida, and Amara. She is also survived by her mother, Marcia Brown of North Adams; her sisters, Rebecca Randall of North Adams and Melissa Borer of North Adams, along with their families; her brother, William N. Brown II of North Adams; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who loved her dearly.
She is predeceased by her brother Mark A. Brown (1993), her sister Erika L. Brown (2021), her cousin Stephanie Malloy (2021), her father Mark W. Brown (2021), and several grandparents whom welcomed her home with open arms.
The family requests that flowers and cards be sent to the First Baptist Church of North Adams.
Calling hours will be held from 10:00–11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 6, 2026 at the First Baptist Church of North Adams with services to follow at the at 11:00 a.m. Burial will take place at Southview Cemetery, with refreshments to follow at the First Baptist Church of North Adams.
