Barbara A. Girard, 80

CLARKSBURG, Mass. —

Mrs. Barbara Ann (Fic) Girard, 80, of Clarksburg, died Friday evening, March 20, 2026 at her home with her family by her side, following a brief battle with Leukemia.

She was born in North Adams on November 17, 1945, a daughter of the late John and Agnes (Roy) Fic. She attended North Adams schools, graduating from the former St. Joseph High School with the Class of 1963.

Barbara worked as the secretary for the family business, Girard Plumbing and Heating, until retiring.

She was a communicant of St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church, North Adams.

She enjoyed attending her grandchildren’s sporting events, and trips to Aruba, Las Vegas and the casinos.

She is survived by her husband, Valmore B. Girard, whom she married on August 28, 1965; her daughters Linda Alibozek (John) of Adams, and Kristen Marceau (Erik) of Pownal, VT; her son Scott Girard (Christine) of Savoy; eight grandchildren – Nathan Alibozek (Amanda), Trevor Alibozek (Amy), Derek Alibozek (Laura), Dylan Marceau (Kate), Jeffrey Marceau, Ken Girard (Jess), Erin Routhier (Joe) and Nicole Williams (Matt), and one great granddaughter, Shay Alibozek. She also leaves her brother-in-law, Glenn Girard (Sandy), as well as several nieces and nephews. Her sister, Doris Tanguay, died on Feb. 19, 2025.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, March 27th at 12 Noon in Southview Cemetery, North Adams.
