Deborah Tenczar, 76

CHESHIRE, Mass. —  

Mrs. Deborah (Ducharme) Tenczar, 76, of Troy, NY, formerly a longtime resident of Cheshire, died on Sunday, April 26, 2026, at Albany Medical Center in Albany, New York.

She was born in Claremont, NH on August 18, 1949, a daughter of the late James and Marilyn (Pullen) Ducharme. She attended schools in Pittsfield and graduated from Pittsfield High School. She then attended Berkshire Community College.

Deborah’s number one job was being a mom to her children, and Mimi to her grandchildren. She had worked for over twenty years at the former J.C. Penny in Lanesboro. Additionally, she spent several years at New England Phone Company in Pittsfield as a switchboard operator.

She was a former member of St. Mary of the Assumption Church, Cheshire where she was a lector, eucharistic minister and taught CCD. She was also a lifetime member of the Girl Scouts of America where she had been a troop leader for many years.

Her husband, Richard F. Tenczar, whom she married on February 14, 1976, died on March 1, 2015.

She is survived by her three sons, Justin Tenczar and his wife Jessica of Troy, NY, Christian Tenczar and his companions Kayla and Jeremy of Pittsfield and Brent Tenczar and his wife Markie of Austin, TX; her brother James “Skip” Ducharme of Germany; her sister Cyndi Argentino and her husband Robert of Phoenix, AZ; seven grandchildren, Xavier, Casimer, Christian, Laim, Reagan, Maverick and Eleanor as well as many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her sister Nanci Ducharme who died on April 18, 2026.

Per Deborah’s wishes there are no funeral services.
