Theophil Malinowski, 96

Theophil Joseph Malinowski, 96, of Port Charlotte, FL, and longtime North Adams resident, died on Sunday, May 10, 2026 in Florida. Born in North Adams on December 3, 1929, he was the son of Agnes (Bourell) and Theophil (“Felix”) Malinowski. As a young man, Phil attended St Joseph grammar and graduated from St Joseph High School. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict.

Theophil was a decorated employee of the U.S. Postal Service in North Adams, serving as a Letter Carrier and was a long-time member of the postal union serving as their president. He was a member of the American Legion and the VFW. An avid hunter, he was active in the Stamford Sportsman Club. His most loved place was his camp in Stratton, VT, where he found peace. After retiring, he moved to Florida.

Survivors include his wife, Pauline Malinowski; a daughter, Melissa (David) Ouellette of Adams; sons, Carl (Barbara) Malinowski of Stamford, Luke (Bonnie Demers) Malinowski of Clarksburg, and Paul Malinowski of North Adams. He also leaves 9 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his first wife, Barbara (Morin) Malinowski in 1976, two sisters, Barbara Newman and Marlene Boucher and daughter in law Kathleen Malinowski wife of Paul.

A graveside service with full military honors for Theophil Malinowski will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, June 19, 2026 in Southview Cemetery.
