George O. Malloy, 88

ADAMS, Mass. —

George O. Malloy, 88, of Adams, died unexpectedly on Thursday, June 4, 2026. He was born in Adams on April 8, 1938, a son of the late James T. Malloy, Sr. and Rita M. (Cross) Malloy, and attended Adams schools.

George grew up in Cheshire and worked on his family’s farm throughout his youth and into adulthood.

He was employed by George E. Emerson Construction Co. for over 30 years as a laborer and heavy equipment operator, as well as working for several other construction companies in the area. Earlier he was employed by the former Adams Marble Quarry, now Specialty Minerals, Inc., which was formerly Pfizer, Inc. He had also operated his own contracting business, G & M Construction.

George was a jack-of-all-trades, and enjoyed masonry, roofing, plumbing, electrical, home remodeling and automotive work. When he wasn’t working his full-time job in construction, he was working side jobs after work and on the weekends, creating beautiful masonry work and remodeling homes.

He was a member of the Laborer’s International Union of America Local 473 for over 60 years. In his younger years, he was an amateur wrestler, competing in Albany, NY and Lowell, MA.

George is survived by his children, Susan Malloy (Jamie Murphy), Donna Malloy, Gary Malloy (Sheri Siam); stepdaughters Carla Trumble-Davis (Larry) and Michele Trumble; his sisters Rita Beaudry, Elizabeth “Betty” Simken, Judy Jolin, Sylvia Noto and Mary Carpenter; his brothers Edward Malloy, James T. Malloy, Jr. and Paul Malloy; his grandchildren Mitchell Malloy, Damon Malloy, Emma Murphy-Malloy, Axel Murphy-Malloy, Lexi Murphy-Malloy, Tammy Desormeaux, Shannon Nicol, Jacqueline King, Jeffrey Malloy and Catherine Castrellon; step grandchildren Peter Cardinal, Eric Cardinal, Deanna Trumble, Michaela Trumble, Desiree Trumble and Anna Sebastino, as well as many great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his wife, Virginia “Ginger” Trumble, his sons; Jeffrey Malloy, Allen Malloy and George Malloy; stepson; Michael Trumble; his brothers; Thomas Malloy, Roy Malloy Sr. and Alfred “Dewey” Malloy, and his sisters; Joan Lagowski and Jean Jones-Beagle. The funeral will be held on Wednesday, June 10th at 6:00 PM in the PACIOREK FUNERAL HOME, 13 Hoosac St. Adams. Calling hours will be held directly before the funeral on Wednesday, June 10th, from 4:00 PM until the service at 6:00 PM, in the funeral home. Burial will be private. So sorry to hear of my cousin George's passing. I haven't seen him in many years but I remember him fondly as a young kid when he would tinker on cars with my dad, Harry Cross. My condolences to all the family.
