Derryl James Jelley, 61, of North Adams, died on Friday June 5, 2026 at his home. He was born in Bennington, VT on November 3, 1964 a son of the late James R. Jelley Sr. & Pamela (Shea) Jelley.

Derryl graduated from Mount Anthony High School and was employed for over 20 years at New England Painting for his dear friend, David Owensby. Derryl enjoyed playing in the local Pool League, camping, NASCAR and was an avid animal lover. Above all, he cherished the relationships he had with his family and friends.

Derryl leaves his beloved children, Grace Russell Jelley, Katelynn Moulton, Christopher Jelley, Marjay Smith, and Caitlyn Johnson. He leaves his brothers and sisters, James Jelley Jr, Kyle Jelley, Keith “Skeeter” Jelley, Gary Jelley and Wayne Jelley, Sharon Nicholas, Pam Jelley McGarvin and Cheryl Jelley. Derryl also leaves his cousins who were like brothers to him including Jerry & David Wilson. He was predeceased by his daughter, Alta Grace Russell Jelley, brother Clarence “Butch” Jelley, sister Jo-Ann Ely and lifelong companion, Patricia Lynn Goodrich “ Pattie”.

FUNERAL NOTICE: Calling hours for Derryl James Jelley will be on Saturday, June 13, 2026 from 12:00 PM – 2:00 PM at Flynn & Dagnoli Funeral Home – WEST CHAPEL 521 West Main St. North Adams, MA 01247. Burial will follow in the Jelley Family Cemetery in Petersburg, NY. Donations may be made in his memory to the Flynn & Dagnoli Funeral Home.
