PITTSFIELD, Mass. —   James O. Kenney, 95, husband of the late Shirley Granger Kenney, passed away on Saturday, August 22, 2026 at Cottingham Hospice House in South Carolina. The Kenneys retired to Punta Gorda, FL after living in Pittsfield, MA for 40+ years.

Born in Adams, MA, Mr. Kenney was the son of the late Henry and Mabel Kenney. He was a proud veteran of the Army National Guard and was a retired draftsman for General Electric.

Mr. Kenney is survived by his sons: Curtis Kenney (Gail) and Craig Kenney (Shelly); daughter: Christine Anderson; grandchildren: Tricia, Bill, Nicole, Katie, Ryan, and Melissa; and great-grandchildren: Michael, Caroline, Jae, Elliot, and Theo; and all the wonderful neighbors on Dinghy Court.

In addition to his wife and parents, Mr. Kenney was preceded in death by a son-in-law: Dean Anderson; and his seven siblings.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Prisma Health Cottingham Hospice House, Attn: Foundation Office, 298 Memorial Dr., Seneca, SC 29672.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

The family is at their respective homes.
