ADAMS, Mass. —

Mr. Robert E. Mazzantini, 71, of Adams, died Wednesday, September 2, 2026 at North Adams Regional Hospital.

He was born in Adams on December 17, 1954, a son of the late Emilio and Antonietta (Nolfo) Mazzantini, and attended Adams schools, graduating from Hoosac Valley High School.

Bob last worked at the former Catamount Pellet Co. in Adams for many years.

He was a member of the Gold Prospectors Association of America, enjoyed prospecting for gold and was an avid gardener.

He is survived by his wife, the former Robin D. Matteson, whom he married on September 5, 1998; his son, Michael Mazzantini of Savoy; daughters Nicole Soules-Kenner (Frank) of Adams, and Jolene Soules of Pittsfield; a brother, Gary Mazzantini and his wife Pat of Cheshire; two sisters, Susan Reinhardt (Jamie) of Savoy, and Lisa Roughley of Lanesboro; 4 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, his mother-in-law, Doris Matteson of Adams; sister-in-law Elaine of Dalton, MA; brothers-in-law Scott Matteson, Sr. of Adams and Raymond Matteson, Jr. of Pittsfield, his beloved dogs Hank and Dweezil, and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, Sept. 11th at 6:00 PM in the PACIOREK FUNERAL HOME, 13 Hoosac St. Adams. Calling hours will be held on Friday from 4:00 PM until the funeral service begins at 6:00 PM, in the funeral home.
