NORTH ADAMS, Mass. —  Shirley Helena (Luczynski) Lescarbeau 85, of North Adams died Thursday September 17, 2026, at Northcare Hospice House in Kansas City, Missouri. She was born in Clarksburg on July 24, 1941, a daughter of the late Raymond and Helena (Bourelle) Luczynski. Shirley graduated from Drury High School in 1959 and was a member of the Pro Merito and Nu Sigma honor societies. In her earlier years she was employed at Northern Berkshire Manufacturing and then worked for the North Adams Public Schools in the food service department, starting part time in the dish room when her kids began school and retiring as the School Food Service Director. She was a communicant of St. Elizabeth Church in North Adams. Shirley loved festive family occasions and traveling and antiquing along the Southern Maine coast with her late husband, Louis C. Lescarbeau, who died July 14, 2016. They were married on June 9, 1962.

Survivors include her sons, Louis Lescarbeau of North Adams, James Lescarbeau (Troy Koeppe) of Kansas City, Missouri, grandchildren Atlas and Maria, and faithful grand-dogs Blue, Astro and Buddy. Shirley also leaves three sisters and two brothers, Florence (Arthur) Bourdon, Helena (Norman) Lescarbeau, Rose (William) Goddard, Raymond Luczynski and John. (Patricia) Luczynski, and many in-laws, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her four sisters and one brother, Agnes Dickinson, Virginia Bostwick, Kathleen Sudduth, Susan Jusino, and Stanley Luczynski.

A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, September 24, 2026, at 11:00 AM at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church in North Adams. Calling hours are Wednesday, September 23, 2026, from 4-7 PM at the Flynn & Dagnoli Funeral Home, WEST CHAPELS, 521 West Main St., North Adams.
