READSBORO, Vt. —  

Mrs. Margie Ann (Tower) Cristofolini, 89, of Readsboro, died on Saturday, September 19, 2026, at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield following a brief and sudden illness.

She was born in Joliet, Illinois on May 12, 1937, daughter of the late George and Emma Tower. She attended schools in Illinois and graduated from Leyden High School.

Margie served as the Town Clerk of Readsboro for many years until retiring. Following her retirement, Margie went to work for the 1836 Country Store in Wilmington, making fudge and candy. She was well known for her quiltmaking, fudge, and scalloped potatoes during the holidays.

Margie met her husband, Aldo Cristofolini, during one of her many summer trips from Joliet, IL to Readsboro, VT. They were married on February 11, 1956, and spent 64 wonderful years together. Aldo died on February 26, 2019.

She is survived by her companion of 5 years, Peter Trova, of Pittsfield, a son, Michael Cristofolini and his wife Angie of North Adams; two Sister-in-Law Lillian Tower and Vicky Trudeau; eight grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; one great great grandchild and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was predeceased by two sons, Martin and James Cristofolini in 2025.

The funeral will be held on Tuesday, September 29th at 11:00 A.M. in St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church, North Adams. Burial will be at a later date in Readsboro.

Calling hours at the PACIOREK FUNERAL HOME, 13 Hoosac St., Adams, are Monday from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M.
