Ann L. Romaniak, 65

ADAMS, Mass. —  

Ann L. (Prejsnar) Romaniak, 65, of Adams, died unexpectedly on Sunday, September 27, 2026 at her home.

She was born in Adams on August 12, 1961, the daughter of Stanley and Theresa (Matrigali) Prejsnar. She attended Adams schools and graduated from Hoosac Valley High School with the Class of 1979. She later earned her associate’s degree from Berkshire Community College.

Ann last worked for BCARC for 20 years, until retiring. Earlier, she had worked for the Massachusetts Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children, and for Hillcrest Educational Centers.

She was a member of the Bennington Lodge of Elks, and earlier, of the former Adams Lodge of Elks. She was an active volunteer at the Berkshire Food Project in North Adams and participated in many activities of the Alert Hose Company in Adams for many years, of which her husband is a retired member.

“Blanche”, as she was known by many, enjoyed taking rides with her husband to many different breweries and loved being a grandmother, their Mimi. She loved sunflowers, sunsets, snowmen, and pumpkin spice anything. Broadway shows, beach vacations, pierogi making, and time spent with her family and friends were her greatest joys.

She is survived by her husband, Thomas A. Romaniak, whom she married on May 1, 1982; her daughter, Kelsey Romaniak and her husband Benjamin Knabel of Braintree, MA; her granddaughters Emilia and Stella; brothers Stanley Prejsnar and his wife Mary of Queen Creek, AZ and Alan Prejsnar and his wife Christine of Gilbert, AZ; as well as several nieces, one nephew, and many cousins.

The Funeral will be held on Friday, October 9th at 11:00 AM in St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, 25 Hoosac St. Adams. Burial will follow in St. Stanislaus Cemetery, Adams. Calling hours will be held on Friday, Oct. 9th from 9:30 AM until the funeral at 11:00 AM, IN THE CHURCH.
