ADAMS, Mass. —

JoAnn V. (Filiault) Montgomery, 84, of Adams, died Wednesday morning, October 28, 2026 at Williamstown Commons.

She was born in North Adams on August 3, 1942, a daughter of the late George H. and Virginia J. (LePage) Filliault. She attended the former Notre Dame Elementary School and graduated from the former St. Joseph’s High School with the Class of 1960.

JoAnn worked for many years as office manager at H.A. George Fuel Co. in North Adams until retiring. Earlier, she had worked in the office at the former Adams Super Markets and Big Y Supermarket.

She was a communicant of Notre Dame des Sept Douleurs Church, Adams. She was a former member of the North Adams Aerie of Eagles and enjoyed Hallmark channel movies and Native American artwork.

She is survived by her daughter, Wina Gazaille and her husband Brian of Hickory, NC, her son Steven Bonneville and his wife Diana of Becket, MA;

her brothers Michael Filiault (Irene) of The Villages, FL, Jeffrey Filiault of Adams and Bruce Filiault (Sally) of Seattle, WA, her sisters Patricia Samoluk (George) of Sandwich, MA, Dianne Blair (David) of North Adams, and Renee Conlon of Providence, RI, 9 grandchildren- Megan, Mallory, Makenna, Elton, Burke, Alyssa, Grace, Bryce and Elizabeth; 5 great grandchildren- Norah, Colby, Remi, Riley and Raelynn, as well as several nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. She was predeceased by a son, Bruce W. “Butch” Montgomery, Jr., a daughter, Bridget A. McGrath, and a brother, Stephen Filiault.
