Frances V. Olson

Frances V. Olson, 77, died Sunday at Fairview Commons, where she had resided since September 1995. Born in New York City on Aug. 26, 1924, daughter of Philip and Mary O'Leary Donahue, she moved to Stockbridge as a child and graduated from the former Williams High School in 1943. She also attended the University of Baltimore and graduated from Baltimore General School of Nursing. She worked in New York City for several years as a supervisor at New York University-Bellevue Medical Center. She also had resided in Worcester, where she was a communicant of St. Paul's Cathedral and a volunteer with Respite Care of Worcester. Before moving to Fairview Commons, she had divided her time between Worcester and Stockbrige. She enjoyed music and the arts, which she had studied, and was an accomplished pianist. Her husband, Vernon Olson, died in 1980. She leaves a sister, Ann Beacco of Stockbridge. She was predeceased by a sister, Marie Mangin, and a brother, Philip Donahue. A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, March 21, at 10:30 at St. Joseph's Church, Stockbridge, by the Rev. Steven McGuigan. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Stockbridge. There will be no calling hours.
