James Boudreau

James A. Boudreau Sr., 79, of Wellesley, died Tuesday at Newton Wellesley Hospital in Newton. He was the father of James A. Boudreau Jr. of Lee. Born in Malden on Aug. 26 1922, son of James and Gertrude Fleming Boudreau, he was a graduate of Malden High School. He graduated, magna cum laude, in 1947 from Boston College, and received his master's degree from the college in 1948. He also received a master's degree in library science from Simmons College in Boston. He was an Army veteran of World War II. He was most recently employed as archivist at Lasell College in Newton. He was previously employed as library director at Babson, Bentley, Simmons and Stone Hill colleges. He was a member of the American Library Association. Besides his son, he leaves his wife, the former Muriel Page; four daughters, Charline B. Sullivan of Needham, Jeanne D. Boudreau, Michele B. Travers and Carol Boudreau, all of Wellesley, and 11 grandchildren. Services will be Saturday, March 23, at 9 from the J.S. WATERMAN & SONS-WARING FUNERAL HOME, 592 Washington St., Route 16, Wellesley, followed by a funeral Mass at 10 in St. John's Church, Route 16, Wellesley. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery, Wellesley. Friends may call at the funeral home today, Friday, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 6 Strathmore Road, Natick, MA 01760.
