Dorothy Feil

Dorothy Feil, 82, of 151 Route 344 Main St., Copake, N.Y., died Sunday at Fairview Commons. Born in Buffalo, N.Y., on March 22, 1920, daughter of Andrew and Dorothy Schlaffer, she was educated in schools there. She moved to Rochester, N.Y., where she was employed by the Eastman Kodak Co. In 1964, she moved to Copake Falls and worked as a mental health care provider for the state of New York, retiring in 1990. She was a former member of the Copake Falls Women's Fire Auxiliary and was an Order of Eastern Star matron. Her husband, Frank J. Feil Jr., whom she married Sept. 25, 1953, in Chihuahua, Mexico, died Aug. 5, 2000. She leaves a son, Bradley Feil of Kingston, N.Y.; three daughters, Barbara Vaghn of Sullivan, Ohio, Kasey Prostler of Jewitt, N.Y., and Brett Ferrusi of Copake Falls; a brother, Charles Schlaffer of Rochester; 10 grand-children and several great-grandchildren. Services will be private at the convenience of the family. There will be no calling hours. Expressions of sympathy in her memory may be made to the Copake Community Rescue Squad in care of BIRCHES-ROY FUNERAL HOME, 33 South St., Great Barrington, MA 01230, which is in charge of arrangements.
