Felix Lescarbeau

Felix E. "Nookie" Lescarbeau, 67, of 370 Cross Road died Sunday at home. Born in North Adams on May 15, 1934, son of Edward J. and Emaline Lord Lescarbeau, he attended schools there. A Navy veteran of the Korean War, he served on the USS Monterey and USS Antietam. He served from 1951 to 1959. He was employed by various construction companies in North-ern Berkshire for most of his career. He also was employed at the former Carol Cable Co. in Williamstown for several years. He retired in the late 1980s and worked part time as a carpenter until his death. Mr. Lescarbeau was a communicant of St. Francis' Church. He was a longtime member and past commander of the Dr. George L. Curran Post 996 Veterans of Foreign Wars in North Adams. He was also a member of the Frank R. Stiles Post 125 American Legion and the Benevolent & Protective Order of Elks, both in North Adams. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycle. His wife, the former Barbara Elizabeth McCoy, whom he married Aug. 27, 1955, in Bennington, Vt., died March 10, 1998. He leaves two daughters, Sharon Girard of North Adams and Sharlene Roulier of Framingham; two sons, Donald R. Lescarbeau and Shaun M. Lescarbeau, both of North Adams; four sisters, Erma Foster and Theresa Grieger, both of North Adams, Emaline Goddard of Clarksburg and Bernadette Aubin of Stamford, Vt.; nine brothers, Henry W. Lescarbeau of Clarksburg, David E. Lescarbeau, Edward E. Lescarbeau, Donald R. Lescarbeau, Louis C. Lescarbeau, Leon C. Lescarbeau, Norman J. "Butch" Lescarbeau, Harold J. Lescarbeau and Howard J. Lescarbeau, all of North Adams; 11 grandchildren and a great-grandson. He was predeceased by two brothers, Richard F. Lescarbeau and Lawrence A. Lescarbeau. The funeral will be Wednesday at 10 at FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS, West Chapels, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11 at St. Francis of Assisi Church. Burial will take place at a later date. Calling hours at the funeral home will be Tuesday from 4 to 7. Memorial donations are suggested for the American Heart Association through the funeral home, 521 West Main St., North Adams, MA 01247.
