Lenore Pinckney

Lenore M. Pinckney, 82, of 12 Alford Road died Wednesday, March 6, at The Village at Laurel Lake in Lee. Born in Mineola, N.Y., on Nov. 3, 1919, daughter of Donald and Helen MacDonald, she graduated from Garden City High School in 1937. She also graduated from Bradford Junior College in 1939. She moved to Alford in 1970 from Garden City. Mrs. Pinckney was an active volunteer for the Great Barrington Visiting Nurses Association for more than 20 years. She was past president of the Alford Garden Club, a member of the Great Barrington Garden Club, a past board member of the Berkshire Botanical Gardens and a member of the Stockbridge Playhouse. Her husband, James Henry Pinckney IV, whom she married Oct. 31, 1942 at the Cathedral of Incarnation, died May 8, 1996. She leaves a son, James C. Pinckney of Ashley Falls, and a daughter, D. Jane Pinckney of Lakeville, Conn. A Memorial Service will be Saturday, April 20, at 10:30 in the Alford Church. There are no calling hours.
