Blanche Schofield

Blanche M. Schofield, 87, of 7 Hathaway St. died Saturday evening at North Adams Commons. Born in Adams on April 2, 1915, daughter of Charles and Marie Louise Rauthier Clerc, she attended Adams schools. Mrs. Schofield was employed by the former Berkshire Fine Spinning Co. for many years and by Adams Laundry, now Aladco, for many years until her retirement. She was a communicant of the Parish of Notre Dame-St. Thomas. Her husband, Charles Schofield, whom she married Nov. 30, 1936, died April 12, 1980. She leaves two daughters, Sandy Schofield of New Hampshire and Cathy Schofield of Adams, with whom she made her home, and a sister, Irene Smith of Bellmead, N.J. She was predeceased by a brother, George Clerc. Services will be Wednesday, April 24, at 10 at TROTTIER-PRINGLE FUNERAL HOME in Adams, with the Rev. Daniel J. Boyle, pastor of the Parish of Notre Dame-St. Thomas Aquinas, officiating. Burial will follow in Bellevue Cemetery, Adams. Calling hours at the funeral home will be today from 6 to 8. The family requests the omission of flowers.
