Gertrude Dale

Gertrude Dale, 98, of 1 Oak Lane died yesterday afternoon at Williamstown Commons. Born in Lancashire, England, on April 20, 1904, daughter of John and Eliza Neild Dale, she came to this country as a child with her family. Miss Dale worked as a spinner at the former Berkshire Fine Spinning Associates for many years, retiring in 1957. She was a member of First Congregational Church and a member of its Women's Society and King's Daughters. She leaves a sister-in-law, Vivian Dale, with whom she resided. She was predeceased by three brothers, Clifford, Gilbert and Douglas Dale; and a sister, Mrs. May Gallagher. The funeral will be tomorrow, April 30, at 10:30 from AUGE-PACIOREK-SIMMONS Funeral Home, 13 Hoosac St., Adams, followed by services at 11 at First Congregational Church in Adams. The Rev. Donald E. Gray, pastor of First Baptist Church, Adams, will officiate. Burial will follow in Bellevue Cemetery, Adams. Calling hours are tomorrow morning from 9:30 to 10:30 at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to First Congregational Church through the funeral home. Survivors include several nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
