Zigmond Murawski

Zigmond M. Murawski, 89, of 5 Pacific St. died Saturday at Berkshire Medical Center. He had been a resident of Hillcrest Commons for two years. Born in Pittsfield on Jan. 11, 1913, son of Michael and Wladyslawa Debiecki Murawski, he attended local schools. Mr. Murawski was a longtime baker at various Pittsfield bakeries. He retired in 1972. A communicant of Holy Family Church, he enjoyed gardening and television sports. He leaves three brothers, Walter Murawski of Pittsfield, Stanley Murawski of Wesley Chapel, Fla., and Edward Murawski of Carson City, Nev.; three sisters, Monica Duda of Dalton, and Irene Cody and Lecadia Serowik, both of Pittsfield. He was predeceased by four brothers, William, Ernest, Chester and Thaddeus Murawski, and by a sister, Sophie Murawski. The funeral will be Wednesday at 9:15 from DERY FUNERAL HOME, 54 Bradford St., Pittsfield, Mass., followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 at Holy Family Church celebrated by the Rev. Eugeniusz Suszek, pastor. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. There will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Holy Family Church in care of the funeral home.
