Flora L. Kiely

Flora Louise Kiely, 86, of 1612 South Church St. died Sunday at Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield, where she was admitted Wednesday. Born in North Adams on July 27, 1915, daughter of Wilfred E. and Emma Seguin Gaudette, she was a 1934 graduate of Drury High School. She also graduated from the former Bliss Business College. She was employed as a secretary with Northern Berkshire Community Action Council in North Adams until her retirement in 1983. She was first employed by the former Sprague Electric Co. until leaving to raise her family. Mrs. Kiely was a communicant of St. Anthony's Church and a member of its Rosary Society. She was a former member of the St. Francis Bowling League and the Jollee Circle, and was a Boston Red Sox fan. Her husband, John Edward Kiely, whom she married Oct. 26, 1946, in St. Francis' Church, died Nov. 23, 1956. She leaves two daughters, Mary L. Cote of North Adams, with whom she made her home, and Patricia A. Gancarz of Adams; a son, William E. Kiely of Adams, and four grandchildren. Two other sons died in infancy, and two brothers, Charles and Raymond Gaudette. The funeral will be Thursday, May 23, at 9:30 at FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS, West Chapels, 521 West Main St., North Adams, MA 01247, followed by services at 10:30 at Our Lady of Mercy Church, 635 State Road. Burial will be in Southview Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home will be Wednesday, May 22, from 4 to 7. Memorial donations are suggested for St. Anthony's Church through the funeral home.
