Marsha L. Elder

Marsha L. Elder, 54, of 84 Marion Ave. died Sunday at home. Born in Oklahoma City on Sept. 8, 1947, daughter of Leona Plumer Kamp of Edmond, Okla., and the late Walter Kamp Sr., she attended schools in there and was a 1965 graduate of Northwest Classen High School. She also attended Oklahoma State University. She had been employed as a claims representative for the Social Security Administration in North Adams since 1978. She was adviser to the Pi Upsilon Omega Sorority at Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts. She and her husband, Harris J. Elder, celebrated their 34th wedding anniversary March 31. They were married in Oklahoma City. Besides her mother and her husband, she leaves two sons, Jacob M. Elder of Williamstown and Andrew M. Elder of Northampton; two sisters, Marilyn Schneider of Houston and Anne Kyle of Blanchard, Okla., and a brother, Walter Kamp Jr. of Edmond. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 11 at First Congregational Church of North Adams by the Rev. Jill Graham, pastor. Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery. There will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are suggested for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation through FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS, West Chapels, 521 West Main St., North Adams, MA 01247, which is in charge of arrangements.
